The young spanish hornist Adrián Díaz Martínez and the pianist Ikuko Odai present on their debut CD rarely recorded original compositions of the 20th century for horn and piano.
The album, features, among others, the very virtuoso Bagatelle by Hermann Neuling, recorded for the first time, or the colourful Elegy by Francis Poulenc. Adrián Díaz Martínez also shows how extensive the expressive possibilities of the horn are with his interpretation of the Sonata op. 101 by York Bowen or the Variations op. 59 by Jan Koetsier. The Belgian composer and music teacher Jane Vignery left behind only a few works. Her Sonata op. 7 is represented on the CD.
